Review: Bud, Not Buddy

Bud, Not Buddy Book Cover

Bud, Not Buddy is an exceptional book written by Christopher Paul Curtis.  This novel is about 10-year-old boy named Bud.  His mother dies when he is young and he has never met his dad.  Because of this, he has been through many different homes with many different people until he runs away and is “on the lam.” He goes on an exciting quest to find his long-lost dad.  The only hint of where that man could be is flyers for “Herman E. Calloway And The Dusky Devastators of The Depression.”  All Bud has is a few belongings in an old suitcase and a hope that his dad will be waiting for him.
