Book Cover - No Talking

No talking by Andrew Clements is a fun and educational read. After reading an article about Mahatma Ghandi taking one day out of every week to go without talking, a young boy by the name of Dave Packer decides to give it a try. He does well until he gets to the cafeteria for lunch. He breaks when a girl at a table across from him talks about something he considered nonsense. He then challenges her to a challenge of not speaking: a challenge of boys vs. girls. Temptation strikes when they are in class, at home, and at lunch. This is a good read, and I do recommend it for elementary students in grades 2-4.
